What is a vision Board?

A vision board is a tool that you can use to make your dream life a reality. It has been proven that once you put your thoughts down on paper, they become real and true in the world. This puts your energy of abundance and manifestation into gear!

A vision board can be a physical board made of poster paper and cut out magazine clippings or stickers of anything that you would like to see come to fruition for your life. Or you can make a virtual board using a program like Canva or even a pinterest board. I have made both and as long as it is a medium that you can look at on a daily basis, they both do the job of bringing your vision to LIFE!

Who needs a vision Board?

A vision board is a tool that can work for anyone. This is not just for “spiritual” people that believe in the Secret. If you don’t have any goals, this can be a good way to help you define your life goals. If you do have goals, no matter your stage in life, a vision board can hone your focus to accomplish anything! If you are a student, you can make a vision of your life after graduation. If you are starting a business or hoping to grow your business or career, you can map out what that growth will look like. If you are planning for retirement, making a vision board can open your mind to all of the opportunities available for that stage of life. Or, at any time, any person can make a vision of what their entire life goal is from high school to retirement. That would be one heck of a board!

How to Make a Vision Board.

Have a Vision Board Party:

Like I said earlier, you can make a vision board out of a piece of poster board and some magazine clippings. It is fun if you can gather together with a group of friends and everyone brings a stack of old magazines to toss into the middle of the room and everyone takes turns clipping anything that sparks their attention as something they want to envision for their life. Everyone needs a blank poster to start with and scissors for the magazines and after the clipping frenzy is over, a glue stick to put it all together. It can be inspiring to see all of your friends gathered together to support each other in solidifying their fresh start and making a new vision for life!

Vision Board Party of One:

Maybe you are into putting your vision together as a private affair. And what if you don’t have a bunch of magazines available? Afterall, if you are anything like me and trying to declutter your home the first thing I did was stop getting so many magazines. You can see all of that online. One option is to make a virtual vision board. I have dedicated one of my private pinterest boards as a vision board. If I see anything online that sparks that feeling of “OMG I really would love to have that in my life!”, I pin that image right onto that board. The fun thing is to look back at some of my earlier pins and see that I have manifested several of those goals and things. The craziest one was a photo of a kitchen window. A couple of years after pinning that pretty image, I moved in with my boyfriend and guess what… his house matches that kitchen window!

I have also seen that Canva has several vision board templates. I haven’t tried that but it could be fun!

Many Vision Board kits are geared to one aspect of life, but this one covers all areas of life from physical, financial, spiritual, life goals, and a reminder of gratitude.

When should I make a new vision board?

Today is a great day to make a new vision board! Any time in your life that you are looking to make a fresh start is a good time to create a new vision board. Are you:

  • Looking for a new job

  • Graduating

  • In a new relationship

  • Getting out of a relationship

  • Planning for retirement

  • Feeling stuck in life

  • Wanting more from life

  • Moving to a new home

  • Starting a family

  • Recovering from a loss

  • Changing Career

This is just a short list of possibilities. Please let me know in the comments below what kind of fresh start that you are hoping for.

Why Should I make a vision Board?

The activity of making your vision board will actually be like a brainstorming activity. There are no wrong answers. When you start to look through the magazines or the internet or the materials provided in a kit that you have purchased, you will notice what starts to appeal to you. This project will make you think about what it is that you really want.

If you are having a hard time coming up with what your life goals are, whether it's short term or long term goals, a vision board is a great place to start getting very clear on what your goals actually are.

Once your Vision Board is complete, whip out your phone and take a pic. It will make the perfect screensaver/wallpaper for your phone and/or computer. Then hang it up where you can see it everyday! Looking at your vision board daily really helps you learn what you want for your best life. More and more, you will start to visualize your best life becoming very real. And you will be reaching your goals like never before, to the point that pretty soon, you will need to make a whole new Vision Board!

Conclusion:

In my opinion, making a vision board is a fun and super productive way to spend a couple of hours. Have a party and invite some friends so that you can all support each other in moving forward to your best lives, or enjoy a moment of peace and lose yourself in the vision of your future. Either way, do it. Make a vision board. It can be a life changer.
